Sean Carney
Sean is Chairman of Emerald Clinical and a Partner and Co-Head of the Global Investment Team at Hillhouse Investment, a leading global alternative investment firm. He joined Hillhouse in 2017, following a 20-year tenure with Warburg Pincus, where he was Managing Director and held leadership roles in both New York and London.
Earlier in his career, he was with McKinsey & Company and Goldman Sachs. Sean holds an A.B. in Economics magna cum laude with Phi Beta Kappa honours from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Glenn Kerkhof
Glenn has over 30 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical services industry and joined from Chiltern, where he was Chief Executive Officer, based in London. Before Chiltern, Glenn served as Vice President, Clinical Services for Charles River Laboratories, and as Vice President, Clinical Europe for Inveresk Research. He is a Non-Executive Director of Infensa Biosciences, and his previous directorships include Cell Care Pty. Ltd. Glenn, based in Melbourne, works closely with the executive team to formulate and execute Emerald Clinical’s global strategy.
Justin Zuo
Justin brings extensive investment and board experience across Asia-Pacific and global markets, supporting the growth and development of leading healthcare and life sciences organizations.
As a Managing Director at Hillhouse, he focuses primarily on healthcare investments. Prior to joining Hillhouse, Justin held senior investment roles at Bain Capital across Hong Kong, Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Earlier in his career, he worked with Bain & Company and J.P. Morgan. Justin holds an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a combined Bachelor of Law and Commerce from the University of Sydney.
Jerry L. Zhen
Jerry brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across the CRO, pharmaceutical, and life sciences industries globally. He most recently served as Global Chairman and CEO of ClinChoice and previously spent more than 12 years at IQVIA (formerly Quintiles) where he held senior roles. During his tenure, he played a key role in driving the company’s expansion and establishing IQVIA China as a market leader through strategic growth and innovation.
Earlier in his career, Jerry held senior positions in business development, portfolio management, and strategic consulting with leading global organizations, including Eli Lilly, GlaxoSmithKline, and Ernst & Young in the United States.
